NbJBoss 2.3.6
SIPtech offers users of the NetBeans and Forte for Java IDE, tools that assist in JBoss/J2EE development. NbJBoss is a plugin for the NetBeans(TM) IDE that provides a set of tools that makes J2EE application development for JBoss(TM) Application Server as convenient as can be.

JBoss is an Open Source, standards compliant, application server implemented in 100% Pure Java. Chosen as the JavaWorld Editors' Choice 2002 Best Java Application Server, it is easily the most downloaded Application Server around. JBoss has a JMX based architecture and provides a small footprint, configurable container with such features as dynamic "hot" deployment. However JBoss does not have any GUI tools to aid and improve developer productivity.

NbJBoss provides a set of cool, easy-to-use tools to develop and deploy J2EE applications on JBoss. It integrates the JBoss Application Server directly into the popular NetBeans IDE - extending the functionalities of the IDE to include development, deployment and management tools for JBoss.

Features of NbJboss

  1. Multiple servers: NbJBoss helps manage one or more JBoss server instances within the NetBeans IDE. The servers could be running on local or remote machines.

  2. Application packager: NbJBoss provides a simple and easy interface for packaging J2EE application files. A convenient Wizard walks the user through a set of steps where he can easily package his enterprise beans/web applicaions/j2ee applications, create the appropriate deployment descriptors - the standard XML descriptors and the JBoss specific ones - and wraps up into an archive file that is readily deployable into JBoss. The EJB Jar Packager Wizard provides support for Stateless Session Bean, Stateful Session Bean, Container Managed Persisted Entity Beans and Bean Managed Persisted Entity Beans. The developer can verify and edit the EJB application at any time and redeploy it.

  3. Easy deployment/undeployment: Easy deployment/undeployment of applications to/from any JBoss server managed by the IDE. Application could be EJB applications packaged as a JAR file, or web applications packaged as a WAR file or a J2EE application packaged as an EAR. Deployment/undeployment is a single click away.

  4. EJB Templates: EJB Templates generate EJB 2.0-compliant code to facilitate easy creation of different types of Enterprise Beans. The developer needs to concentrate only the essential business methods - NbJBoss handles everything else for him.

  5. Configuration Editor: A configuration editor is provided to facilitate easy administration a JBoss server installation. JBoss relies on a set of configuration files to specify its server configurations and editing these is cumbersome and error prone. NbJBoss Configuration Editor facilitates easy editing of JBoss configuration files like jboss.jcml, standardjaws.xml, auth.conf etc

  6. Debugging: Support for server side debugging.

  7. Verifier: NbJBoss ships with a built-in verifier which can be used to test the compliance of your beans with EJB Specification.
